Health - The Need of the Hour

"HEALTH" is the word that we see and hear everywhere today. But what I mean by this word is not dieting, eating less, or eating only boring salads while staying hungry to lose weight, etc.
Health simply means to EAT what is nutritious, a wholesome balance of all the food groups (comprising of cereals, proteins - meat and milk products, fruits and vegetables, oils and fats and sugars), and eating at regular intervals. Living a healthy lifestyle is all about managing your cravings for tasty food with the cravings of your body for nutrition.
Health has become the focus of alot of people today. Be it industrialists, the hotel industry, the food manufacturing industry, government, or the common people. Each and every individual is becoming aware of his health needs. But why? Why do we need to be healthy and why is it important to carefully select what we eat and what we do not eat?
Here are just a few guidelines that would answer all your questions!
1. Ever increasing metabolic disorders
Metabolic syndrome includes cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, obesity, and other conditions which arise due to alterations or disbalance in the hormonal function of the body.
All these conditions arose because of faulty eating and drinking habits.
Consuming too much salty foods including baked goods like breads, chips, preserved and packaged ready to eat foods and pickles, etc., fried foods, sugar containing foods like packaged juices, preserved fruits, jams, etc., and lack of colourful fruits and vegetables from the diet will lead to metabolic syndrome.
In addition to this, lack of exercise also plays an important role. Exercise helps in proper blood circulation which is important for proper nutrient circulation in the entire body. This is how the body can nourish the body to the maximum. Exercise does not mean simply going to the gym for which most of us do not have time. It simply means a little bit of extra walking, climbing stairs, maybe cycling, jogging and running, some stretching exercises and finally gyming.
Let's atleast promise to start one form of exercise this new year. And then gradually move ahead to do the rest!! 
2. Sound Sleep
Good food helps you sleep well and tight and vice versa. Studies suggest that sleep deprivation increases your food intake due to increase in the hormone ghrelin and decrease in the hormone leptin, both of which regulate your hunger and satiety signals in the body. 
Studies on rats suggest that food deprivation leads to wakefulness during the night and reduced amount of sleep.
Another study also suggests that sleep depends on the amount of nutrients available to the body at the cellular level.
Hence it is important to eat enough food even whole you are on a weight loss diet plan and it is important to eat good nutritious food too.
3. Positive Thoughts
When you eat right, you feel right and you can think right.
Eating healthy meals, eating 3 large meals, and 2-3 small snacks inbetween meals will prevent hunger pangs, and cranky behaviour.
You feel irritated when you're hungry because the brain hasn't received enough glucose and your hormones are craving food. All of us must have experienced this. And there are so many trolls that show that if your girl is irritated or angry, just give her food and she'll be fine. So now, give your girl a fruit or a salad before she gets mad at you.
One must eat something every 2-3 hours so that your blood sugar levels remain at a contestant range and there isn't much pressure on the pancreas to release excessive amounts of insulin when you eat only 3 large meals.
When your tummy is full, you are bound to have a positive frame of mind, you will be motivated to do good, utilise your time, not indulge in fights, or unhealthy arguement and be a creative thinker. You can achieve anything in life if your eating habits and lifestyle is healthy.

4. Success
Whether you belong to the Music Industry, Bollywood, Technology Industry, Food Industry, Clothes Industry, or any damn field, you cannot succeed if you havnt eaten right. The energy to function, manage and run your life lies in the hands of the food you eat.
Healthy food choices gives you enough self confidence that you can face all challenges and overcome all obstacles that come your way.
We all know food is also a social tradition all over the world. Any gathering cannot be complete without food. And if you have chosen a healthy range of food items, your guests are bound to be happy and respect you even more for what you are and trust your abilities even more.
So, make sure you Eat right, you Feed right and you will stand right!
5. Spiritual Awakening
What is the link between food and spirituality?
Spirituality specifically means anything that relates to the spirits or the soul. And food definitely satisfies our spirits!
I'm sure all will agree!!
But what you eat also has its say. Eating HEALthy heals the soul and makes you want to achieve a lot more than mere materialistic goals. Your destination becomes far more real than the fake outside world. Adding meaning to your life, the purpose of this birth can only be solved if you are Healthy Wealthy and Wise.
