Replace curd with Greek Yogurt

Curd is essentially a part of every Indian cuisine or diet. The North Indian will club it with their parathas and the South Indians will club it with their rice - curd rice as it is known..

The West will probably with eat it at every meal and the East? Uhm, they will eat it as a dessert - Mishti Doi as they call it.

No one is unaware of the numerous benefits of curd. To start with its an amazing source of probiotics, which alter the microflora in your intestines. It increases the healthy and desired microbes whole reducing the unwanted ones. No doubt, consumption of curds improve the gut health, the digestive systems, the excretory systems and the skeletal systems. Known to be a good source of calcium, how can it not strengthen your bones?!!

Apart from this, curd is a good source of proteins too, which help in building the muscle mass in the body and increase the lean body. It is also packed with other vitamins and minerals and as a result become a complete essential in the diet.

What we are unaware is, with the amount of curd that we eat, out requirements may not be fulfilled. We become full earlier because of the hight water content. This also reduces the nutrition density of the curds. Therefore there is a need for the Greek yogurt or hung curd.

Greek or thick yogurt is a concentrated source of proteins, vitamins and minerals... What u get in larger volumes of curd, can be achieved with little volume of hung curd. It is a good way to load up on your proteins by means of Greek yogurt...

No no... Do not load up on the Greek yogurt available in the markets without watching the nutrient and sugar content.

Watch out : they maybe loaded with sugars to sweeten it and suit the palette. You may never eat a Greek yogurt if it tastes bland but you will load it up if it's sweet. For the purpose of higher public consumption and a preservation of the product for longer periods, the manufacturers add sugar to the Greek yogurt. But why buy if you can make??

Make your own Greek yogurt at home.
* wrap the normal low fat milk curd in a Muslin cloth and hang it up somewhere. Let the water in it drip off.
* remove the Greek yogurt and enjoy with fruits of your choice 😍

The fruits will add the natural sweetness your taste buds desire along with adding more fibre, more nutrients and more taste than the normal curd.
